Nice Improvements

We have now stayed at Casa Coburn three times. The owner has always been responsive. We appreciated the improvements since our last visit e.g. a big screen TV in the family room that we could watch while cooking. Great location.

It was great to have this group back a third time. Not only did the guest notice the big changes we made such as the new televisions, he also brought three new pans for the kitchen (for which he was reimbursed). Glad they enjoyed the location and their stay!

Perfect little casita in a beautiful housing development.

I have traveled extensively in Mexico and Loreto Bay and the housing development had all the charm I have experienced in Mexico. The casita itself was more than sufficient for our needs -- just my husband and myself. Very comfortable. Loreto Bay, itself, was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed kayaking and snorkeling there. I think it would be important to note that the few restaurants within walking distance (with the exception of the resort right there) are closed in the hottest months, which, for us, included September. I highly recommend Casa Coburn!

I'm so happy to hear this couple enjoyed their stay, a variety of activities and the surrounding community. Would love to have them stay at the casa again in the future.

Would defenetly recomend this beautiful villa!!! Our stay was perfect! No need to look for another casa in this area. Was beyond our expectations! Thanks for everything Mr. Coburn. Fam. Salinas

So happy to hear that this family enjoyed all aspects of their stay. I saw photos of their kids with huge smiles on their faces.

Perfect place!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Casa Coburn. We were provided with everything we needed and the service was just amazing. The locale is great, just a couple of feet away from the pool and the local beach. We would certainly love to come back and stay here in the future.

Love hearing this family had a great stay at the casa. I hope they will return for another stay in the future.

Loreto First Timer Picked The Right Place

Hadn't been to Mexico since the 70's and never to BCS. What a beautiful place! Stayed a month and even though it was the warmer season enjoyed every minute. The house is very typical with saltillo floors and tiled counter tops. New flat screen tv's in living room and each bedroom, but I didn't spend much time watching them. Comfortable beds with new pillows. My question is why the bbq grill is on the deck and not near the main floor cooking area. Space considerations maybe? The landscaping is amazing and seems to be tended by an army of workers. The house is a bit of a walk from parking on the street, but the owner has provided one of those little 2-wheeled pull carts to help with any luggage not on its own wheels. Walked the beach (probably 100 yards from the front door) each morning at sunrise and got great photos. Snorkeled a bit, swam in the ocean, the lap pool--which is gorgeous, right around the corner from the house, and the community pool, which is behind the Wine Cellar. The food there was excellent as it was most everywhere in Loreto. I recommend having a car to get into Loreto, about 6 miles away. We were never disappointed in our dining experiences and we tried many different places. It did come down to "killer or filler" because there were a couple places way above the others on flavor, but none I wouldn't go back to. Superburro is a must. The Super Ley is where to get your groceries and all your breakfast pastries--hard to resist. Plenty of shopping opportunities for t-shirts and souvenirs. Even got my teeth cleaned at Dr. Ramos' (recommended by the owner) for 600 pesos--$34usd. Yes, bring pesos with you--much easier than exchanging at the Banco Azteca where you need to have your passport and driver's license with you, and then they don't take any bills that have the slightest tear or blemish. ATM card will work but there's fees. Don't forget to take a boat ride to Coronado Island and a day trip to the San Javier Mission and the 400 year old olive tree. There's more to do than there is time but it is for relaxing, too. And this is as close to 5 stars as I'll ever give.

Glad this guest got to take advantage of so many things that Loreto has to offer. The BBQ is on the upstairs deck as there simply is no place to put it on the lower level where it wouldn't be in the way or not properly vented.

Great Vacation

This was our second stay at Casa Coburn and we again enjoyed the accommodations very much. Upon our arrival, we noticed a couple of minor maintenance items and the owner quickly advised property management and they were resolved by the next day. We look forward to staying at Casa Coburn on our next visit to Loreto and can't wait to come back.

It was great to have these guests back for a return visit and we've already discussed a future visit. They'll likely be excited on their return as I've been in the process of updating various items in the casa.

Great location

Second time at this property. Meets our needs perfectly. Only one thing - would prefer is a better shower head. Close to everything - lane pool is our thing, but close to Hotel pool as well which is available. Great spot this unit.

It was great to have this couple back for a repeat visit.

This is the house for you if you plan to be gone from it all day long....

- Great location around the corner from lap pool & down the street from beach, but on a very busy lane used as a through-street. We were startled awake at 8 am by ladders going up, buckets scraping, etc. Constant irritating workmen noise - downstairs is dark and cold - had the space heaters going every evening. There is no contact with the outdoors from the living area, which is particularly sad when that is what you come to Mexico for. The courtyard is useless – not even a hose for washing sand off feet as the website says - there is no place bright enough to read or write. Very disappointing when we wanted a warm, quiet place for a month of relaxation - loveseats in living room are stained, one has a back cushion missing; we had to cover them in bedsheets to use them - there is no place to lounge with your feet up except in bed - comfortable beds but headboards are not attached to frames; both creak too much for romance. - there are 4 TVs, but only 1 works. overall material state of this house is summarized by the utter uselessness of GE dishwasher which doesn't clean dishes, leaving us to re-wash every item - same with washer and dryer - everything comes out linty - out of 20 knives in kitchen, not a single sharp one - good selection of teabags, but no kettle. Owner responded promptly: he would try to get one, but then silence, not even an apology for not being a tea drinker. * Safety tip: make sure you use sink when pouring boiling water from saucepan onto your teabag – why no teapot?? - as it will spill and burn you because it is not meant to be used as, well, a kettle - the Mr. Coffee takes 30 min to make a pot; needs descaling or replacing - whole place badly needs maintenance & deep-cleaning. New beach towels are lovely but we couldn’t even clean the house ourselves. Had to buy our own sponges for kitchen counters, scrounge around for almost-empty bottles of toilet cleaner and cleansers. Owner should at very least provide all cleaning supplies plus adequate amounts of toilet paper and coffee filters! Hello...we're talking a few dollars here * Repair we had to make: bathroom window had become warped from being left open. Had to arrange to have it removed, repaired and reinstalled. A waste of one full day of our vacation. - patio is up a narrow stone staircase, does not have loungers or full sun. Who wants to trundle heavy dishes upstairs to get to the BBQ, where there is no sink or dining table?

It is very disappointing that these guests failed to communicate with me. They e-mailed twice during the first three days of a month stay and never again. I got no response when I tried to answer issues they raised.

They claim the Web site states a hose is available in the courtyard. No, it has a photo of the faucet with a caption that reads "After a trip to the beach, a faucet on upstairs deck can be used to rinse feet and more." It is exactly where the site claims it is.

Issues reading and writing? There are plenty of lights if the natural light isn't enough.

There are three televisions (not four) and all are working. Had they communicated with me or my property manager, we could have explained that they were pushing the wrong buttons on the remote.

No other guests (or myself) have had issues with the coffee maker, dishwasher, washer or dryer. I would love to provide a Keurig coffee maker, but there is no place to buy cups for it. They never communicated any appliance problems during their stay.

As for the teakettle, I replied multiple times (on the day it was reported) about options for getting a replacement. When I got no response from them (in more than three weeks) to the questions I posed, I could only assume they had solved the issue.

If basic supplies were needed, they should have contacted the property manager. I provided numerous ways to make this contact. It is as simple as stopping in the nearby office. As I live in another country, I can't do it myself and I have a very responsive property manager that happily helps guests when asked.

These guests did NOT have to repair the bathroom window, nor did it waste a day of their vacation. Again, they failed to communicate anything with me. They demanded the property manager fix something that was a non-issue. Even though it wasn't needed, it could have been completed without them being there to watch.

Yes, a staircase goes from the first floor to the second floor. While this couple may not have wanted to use the BBQ on the patio, that is their choice. Other guests have been very happy to use it on the upstairs patio. I do provide a very accurate picture of where it's located & the patio furniture collection.

If this couple had simply communicated their concerns with me or my property manager, they would have found we were more than willing to help. Guests before & after this couple have been thrilled with the house.
